The HepSeq-Research is a web-accessible, quality-based database designed to include comprehensive molecular, clinical, epidemiological, and virological data for Hepatitis B infection and is built to the specification of the ‘HepBVar’ project.

This web database development is funded by the UK Department of Health, is curated and hosted by the Bioinformatics Unit of the Health Protection Agency (HPA), and is managed by the Hepatitis Steering Committee.

Registration to HepSeq-Research is free for users from academic and non-profit institutions based on the terms and conditions given in the academic license. Please click on the ‘Academic or Non-profit’ tab to read the license agreement and to register to get a login id. This provides access to sequence data and analysis tools.

Commercial users are advised to register their interest and could be given access to the restricted part of the database, on a case by case basis, depending on their access needs.

Hepatitis virology laboratories who wish to contribute data to the HepSeq-Research database are advised to contact the steering committee. It may be possible to assist data entry by enabling bulk uploads of records and sequence data

Use of the database for research with a view to publication is managed by the steering committee whose agreement must be sought prior to publication.
